Volunteering your time is a great way to support Project KIND.
A permission slip is required for those under 18 not accompanied by their parent who intend to volunteer at an outreach, fund raiser or Logistics Center.
Volunteer at an Outreach
Project KIND runs a number of regularly scheduled mobile street outreach events in northern NJ. Volunteers meet us at our outreach locations to help distribute items and food to our friends. As we interact with our friends, opportunities abound to show compassion, to spread kindness and love, to be a friend who just listens, and to encourage and pray for our friends.
Volunteer at Project KIND Logistics Center
Located in Rockaway NJ, our Logistics Center is where we accept donated items such as clothing, blankets, toiletries, packaged foods and other seasonal items. Volunteers help organize inventory, package meals, create KINDNESS notes for bagged lunches, decorate lunch bags and other activities in support of the street outreach.
Volunteer at your Home, Church, School or Organization
Many of our volunteers use their time to collect items, make sandwiches for outreach events, decorate launch bags and create KINDNESS notes in their own homes, with their civic groups, or at their places of employment.
Volunteer in your Vehicle
Often times people have items and food to donate, but no way of transporting these items. Volunteers can help us by picking up these items and dropping them at our Logistics Center in Rockaway, NJ.
Volunteer to Raise Funds
Throughout the year Project KIND runs fund raising campaigns to support the costs of our outreaches and operating costs. Volunteers who are well connected in their communities help us by encouraging people in their circles of influence to support us financially during our campaigns.
Volunteer to Raise Awareness
In a world that is ever busy and increasingly noisy, we often need help in raising awareness of the problem of homelessness, as well as educating people about how they can partner with Project KIND to help this often overlooked population. Volunteers come alongside us to help spread the word to the people with whom they regularly come in contact.
